Does Reduce Image Size upload my photo?
No. Compression runs in your browser. The file is not sent to our servers.
Can I hit an exact size such as 100 KB?
Yes. Choose Exact size or open a compress-to-KB page. We re-encode until the file is at or under the cap. If PNG cannot get there, we ask to save as JPG.
Is location data removed?
Yes, when you leave “Remove location and camera data” on (the default). Re-encoding strips EXIF. Uncheck it only if the original is already under the cap and you want the original bytes.
Is this the same as Compress Image?
Same engine, different wording. Use this page if you searched for “reduce image size.” For a hard cap, use Compress Image to 100 KB, 200 KB, or 500 KB.
